Further flood alert on Thames
A FLOOD alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the lower navigational Thames.
Flood water from its higher reaches coupled with sustained rainfall has led to the flood alert, Janet Friend reports.
Though property flooding is not expected, residents are being warned of possible floods in low-lying areas with the agency closing all locks on the river.
No boating
It is warning that boating should not be undertaken until the situation improves with it telling—We expect river levels to remain high over the coming days. We are closely monitoring the situation.
It advises that towpaths in the area and low lying footpaths should not be be used.
