Difficult to understand

A NOTICE concerning the New Junction Canal is difficult to understand.

It tells that the canal is closed at the canal's Flood Doors to save water due to other closures on the network, Keith Gudgin reports.

Then we are told by Canal & River Trust that it will inform us when water levels recede.

Why it should save water when so many floods is not told.

Bridge still closed

The Top Lane Lift Bridge 3 on the New Junction Canal that suffered an hydraulic failure on Monday is still closed.

It is secured in the closed position, with the power switch turned off, and is unable to lift to allow boat passage.
