The Erewash saga still continues

THE saga of the lack of water on the Erewash Canal still continues.

But we are told that water levels have started to improve, Keith Gudgin reports.

Especially from Gallows Inn Lock downstream towards Pastures lock.

Low water levels

But still experiencing low water levels from Pastures Lock towards Sandiacre Lock, and being told—We are closely monitoring the situation and please proceed with care in the meantime.

But this time no mention of any lock gates left open.

It all seems, as we have mentioned before, that there is an underlying problem resulting in it just not holding water on this little used dead-end waterway (we did it a few times whilst at nearby Sawley Marina, and rarely met any boats)..
