Still another winter works cancelled

THERE is still another winter works cancelled.

This time the work needed for the sluice near Dog Lane Bridge is cancelled, Keith Gudgin reports.

He adding—'So much for them saying they are making things better for boaters by repairing the system!'

Will not take place

It is now going on for a dozen winter works that will not now take place.

The stoppage was required due to dewatering the canal to undertake an Inspection of the sluice.  This needing a fabric dam placing around the sluice so water can still flow. It is told that unfortunately boats would not be able to pass due to the fragility of the dam.
