The saga continues

THE saga being the lack of water on the Erewash Canal.

It is still closed between Sandiacre Lock and Gallows Inn Lock, Keith Gudgin reports.

And it has been since last Tuesday, the 12th, when once again (it occurred on Wednesday 6th) the water was too low for navigation between the two locks making it over a week in all.

Gates not blamed

But this time, at last, no mention of that stupid excuse of gates being left open so causing the lack of water, as that of course cannot cause a pound to drop.

It really must be something serious as people are daily allowing water into the pound yet it is still unnavigable the following day.

Someone should be checking for a leak.
