Two more winter works cancelled

THE Canal & River Trust has cancelled two more winter works.

This making six scheduled works that will not go ahead this winter, Keith Gudgin reports.

The damaged bottom gates on Lock 12 on the Aylesbury Arm of the Grand Union Canal will no longer be replaced. Neither will the repair work that was also scheduled be undertaken.

Macclesfield Canal

Bosley Flight Lock 6 on the Macclesfield Canal also requires replacement bottom gates on the lock together will cill liners, but this will not now take place.

It is obviously hoped that these gates and cills will hold, but for how long it is not stated as dates for their repairs have not been given.
