Shardlow Inland Port Festival

SHARDLOW Inland Port Festival will be next month with plenty of activities promised.

It will take place on both land and water on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September at the village on the Trent & Mersey Canal, Janet Friend reports.

The heritage centre will be open showing the history of the village as an important inland port, that the event will commemorate.

BBC will be there

There will be many activities throughout Shardlow with stalls booked, together with a floating market on the waterway. A dog show is also organised, and, most interesting, people from the BBC will be there to choose antiques for a future Bargain Hunt television programme.

So if you have any family heirlooms gathering dust in your house, an expert valuation is offered that will take place in St James' Church car park with a view of consigning your items for forthcoming auctions.
