That was quick

THE Worcester & Birmingham Canal Tardebigge Flight was closed yesterday morning, Wednesday.

tardibigge400This was caused by an issue with a gate on Lock 41, Keith Gudgin reports.

The gate had shifted and the team needed to drain the pound and do an investigation and a quick repair if required.

Then come 12.30 on the same day we are told the navigation is back open! Quick repair indeed!

More quick work

Still more quick work with the failed paddles of yesterday quickly being repaired.

Though a temporary repair on the broken paddle on Bosley Flight on the Macclesfield Canal, it is enough to have the navigation back open.

And the Weaver Navigation has had its broken paddle on Saltersford Lock repaired, with the trust pleased to advise that Saltersford Lock is now operational and navigation has resumed.

And still they come, with the Aire & Calder Navigation Main Line re-opened with the repair of its gate paddle (sluice) being undertaken and the lock reopened for normal use.

These three paddle repairs all done in one day.
