Sunken boats removed from Wendover Arm

Published: Wednesday, 14 August 2024

THE two boats that were sunk blocking the entrance to the Wendover Arm, have at last been removed.

SunkenWendoverArmOne has been removed and the other refloated (shown), Howard Clarke reports.

Though boats can now get through there is little depth, and deep draughted boats will have difficulty. The photograph of the raised boat by Howard Clarke.

Closure

There is a Canal & River Trust notice at Tringford Pumping Station stating that the Wendover Arm is closed.

The notice states 'Wendover Arm is closed for navigation stop planks are in place and access to the winding hole is not possible'.
