CaRT tell paddles left open draining pounds on closed waterway!

THE Canal & River Trust inform boaters that paddles have been left open draining pounds on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal yesterday, Sunday.

This is at locks 31E and 33E, Keith Gudgin reports.

Yet on Friday the canal was closed for navigation through lack of water from 1E to 16E, so how can boaters be blamed for leaving paddles open on an obviously closed waterway that they cannot use?

As Keith remarked—It's beginning to sound like a broken record.

And it certainly is, as boaters are being blamed wholesale for its lack of maintenance causing so many canals to run dry, especially it stupidly now stating the impossible that an open lock gate can drain a waterway.
