Lorry takes to the canal

A LORRY driver found out it was not 'better by water', T. C. Mapstone, tells us when reporting the incident of a lorry in a canal.
And it was Keith Gudgin who remarked the driver wants to be careful or Canal & River Trust will charge him for a licence!
Early morning
It was an early morning crash at Bridge 175 Limpey Stoke on the Kennet & Avon Canal, with the emergency services called just after midnight, but no one was hurt in the crash.
The A346 over the canal was closed for 24 hours as was the waterway until the lorry could be recovered. Photograph courtesty of Daniel Webb.
As can be seen it is an articulated lorry, and owned by Spanish logistics firm PrimaFrio, leaving the road and stuck on the canal bank.
