Boaters save drowing men

ANOTHER boater on the Thames has saved a drowning man in the river—the second within a month.

The latest was when a narrowboat owner used his tender to help find a man who had fallen into the river at Kingston, with the man dragged out of the water unconscious near to the rowing club.

Other boaters stood by with towels and blankets, and had telephoned for an ambulance, that took him to Kingston Hospital.

A few weeks earlier, another man was saved from drowning, this time by houseboat owners, who had helped in the rescue on the same reach.
