Will not lose the Willow Tree Tea Room

A VERY popular café at Mercia Marina is the Willow Tree Tea Room.

Popular not only for its food and drinks but also as it is next to an extensive car park and right near an entrance, so handy for visitors.

And neither so far for moorers!

But when both moorers and visitors saw the proposed massive new development, the Promenade, that would take 18 months to build and with Willow Tree Tea Room demolished in the process there was great disappointment.

So after dinner there yesterday, Tuesday, it was straight to the nearby office to get the facts.

And we were pleased to be told that a separate temporary block will first be constructed near the marina moorers entrance near a car park and the café will be moved into it, with the only disruption being when moving all its equipment.

This new block we understand will also temporary contain the marina office.

Eventually

Eventually when the £6 millions Promenade with its 14 flats and seven new shops are built the Willow Tree Tea Room, will move again, this time from its then temporary position to the opposite end of the development near to the main entrance with its tables and chairs outside with views of the marina.

So all will be then be well!
