Boats grounded on the Trent

Published: Wednesday, 31 January 2024

THERE are warnings of boats grounded on the upper section of the Trent.

This is caused by the silt being washed down with the floods, Keith Gudgin reports.

This is particularly bad around Barton Island, between Bridge 5 and the towpath bridge on the Upper Trent with reports of many groundings.

Over past weekend

These have occurred over this past weekend.

Emergency dredging work is being planned, but in the meantime the trust is advising its customers to proceed with caution.
