The Canal & River Trust team are to install a dam at Lock 7 today, Friday, Keith Gudgin reports.

Then the contractors can instal the required scaffolding to enable access to the lock chamber.
Then it is expected boaters will be told the time scale of the work that is required to renew the gate heel post of of one of the gates that is preventing its use.
Of course, the entire Audlem Flight is closed for navigation.

Though scaffolding has now been installed at the Lock 7 the teams and contractors will do all they can to attempt a temporary repair to the heal post..
