Extensive search by Bridgewater Canal for missing man

A GREAT deal of effort is being put into the search for a man who went missing on the 28th December in Salford.

He was last seen by the Bridgewater Canal near a Texaco garage at Moseley Common by the waterway, Keith Gudgin reports.

This morning, Monday, a large team of police offices were gathered continuing their search into the woodland by the canal.

Specialist officers

A police spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Police told that specialist officers are currently conducting a thorough search of a section of the Bridgewater Canal and surrounding wooded areas, around the Boothstown and Astley areas due to information received regarding the missing local man, Peter.

There have been suggestions of divers being engaged to search the waterway.
