More Erewash problems

THERE are even more Erewash Canal problems.
It is now closed between Pastures Lock (64) and Barkers Lock (70) at Ilkeston due to low water levels, Keith Gudgin reports.
Canal & River Trust state it strongly advises boaters not to travel this section of the canal!
This is in addition to last week's closure between Langley Lock and Shipley Lock owing to the same reason.
Caldon Canal
The Caldon Canal too is still under restriction with the failure of Ivyhouse Lift Bridge, with assistance for boaters to pass through, but at 9am only.
The defective component was removed earlier in the week, but it requires the contractors to return and complete the installation, but will not be until next week.
