Welford Arm closed

HEADING yesterday's closures is Welford Arm on the Leicester Section of the Grand Union Canal.

Due to the failure of the a ground paddle the lock is closed pending further investigation and repairs, Keith Gudgin reports.

It is hoped to get the repair done as soon as possible as this prevents boat movement from Welford Marina.

Not so lucky

Boaters on the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal are not so lucky with the failure of Outwood Swing Bridge (20) as having inspected the failure yesterday, Thursday, and doing some work the decision was made to close the bridge until the 8th August.

This Canal & River Trust state this is owing to parts having to be ordered.
