More Huddersfield problems

THERE have been many stoppages caused by one thing or another on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.

But now it is the turn of the Huddersfield Broad Canal, with the shortage of water causing its closure, Keith Gudgin reports.

Unlikely to improve

Though we are informed that staff and volunteers are working to to try and improve the situation it is unlikely it will improve enough in the short term to allow through navigation to recommence.

So there is no navigation on the Huddersfield Broad Canal until the rains arrive to replenish supplies.
