One opens—another closes

AS WATER levels have improved at Norwood on the Chesterfield Canal it was re-opened today.

The flight up to the tunnel was closed earlier this month due to water shortage.

Closed until further notice

But one opens and another closes, as Misterton Top Lock needs repair and the navigation is closed at the flight until further notice.

Engineers however are on site today to assess the repairs that are needed to the gate of the lock that is at the other end of the waterway near its junction with the tidal Trent.
