THE Willow Trust, that operates two broad beam boats on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal, has had a massive cash boost from Cirencester's Coventry Building Society.

The society has donated £22,864 towards the charity that will enable it to continue to operate its two boats for disabled and seriously ill people, Alan Tilbury reports.

Amazing

Liz Roland of The Willow Trust enthused:

"That is a huge amount of money. It's too amazing. It will be used to give disabled people and people who are very ill a chance to come on our boats.

"It costs every person £15 a day. It helps people who never dreamt they could have a chance of having a day like this."

The Trust was established in 1989 and operates the two wheelchair accessible boats from Saul Junction at Frampton-on-Severn, with each boat taking up to 30 passengers.
