THE failure of Medge Hall Swing Bridge on the Stainforth & Keadby Canal has closed the navigation until it can be repaired.

Also known as Crook o'Moor Swing Bridge, it failed yesterday (Monday) and is stuck in the position across the waterway, closing passage, Keith Gudgin tells us.

The Stainforth & Keadby Canal is a short seven miles link between the tidal Trent at Keadby with the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Navigation at Maud's Swing Bridge.
