THE police have issued the statement that badly charred human remains have been found in the flat that was the site of the explosion by the side of the Thames in Oxford.

Though not yet identified, the body is believed to be that of Guido Schuette who is unaccounted for and understood to have died in the incident (Too close for comfort).

Two cruisers

The larger of the two cruisers on the hard standing between the explosion and the Thames was badly burned though the small one escaped with just scorching by the flames from the explosion, as firemen were able to douse the nearby flames.

None of the boats in the nearby moorings were damaged, though covered in debris from the resulting fire.

The whole area was still cordoned off yesterday (Saturday).
