Huddersfield Narrow closed again

ONCE again the Huddersfield Narrow Canal is closed for repairs, this time to enable repairs to  a collapsed wall.

A retaining wall between locks 29E and 28E has collapsed, leaving unsupported stone work above the navigational channel, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Carrying out assessments

At the moment there is no intimation as to when this will be repaired, only that engineers are carrying out assessments of the issues.
