Another bridge strike

THERE as been another canal bridge struck by a vehicle that has damaged it making it unsafe for boaters.

This time it is the Staffs & Worcester that has been closed until Canal & River Trust engineers make an assessment of the damage to the parapet, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Currently closed

The waterway is currently closed at Wolverhampton between Dimmingsdale Lock and Wightwick Lock.

The engineers will decide if it is safe to open the canal, as yet it is not known if debris from the strike has landed in the water restricting passage.
