Surprised and delighted

Bah humbug T Lang, we were surprised and delighted when we found that our day boat guest's photo had won the [photograph] competition, we weren't aware that he had entered it, writes Linda Andrews.

Holly Day is named after the Battle of Nantwich, known as Holly Holy Day, There is an annual re-enactment in the town in January, it is quite a spectacle. The pun is intentional, she's a day boat, designed for a fun day out, and for many people it is their first introduction to the pleasures of the canals.

Bring revenue

Day boaters can turn into holiday hire boaters, who can ultimately turn into boat owners. They all bring revenue to the canals so please lets not start another round of hireboat bashing.

T Lang, get your camera out and maybe you can win the competition next year.
