More flats for Leeds & Liverpool Canal

PLANS have been approved for a five storey apartment block next to the Leeds & Liverpool Canal at Apperley Bridge.

The plans were passed unanimously by councillors, and will result in a block of 28 flats being built by the side of the waterway, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Demolished

The property at present houses a garage and workshop, that are primarily used for storage and maintenance, but will be demolished to make way for the flats.

However, a similar scheme, for a five storey apartment block of flats, though given planning approval in May 2008, was never built.
