Regent's Canal closed

The Regent's Canal in the capital is currently closed due to the failure of the lock at its junction with the Hertford Union Canal.
There is a 'serious fault' with one of the gates on Old Ford Lock (8) that has caused Canal & River Trust to close the navigation, Keith Gudgin tells us.
This occurred yesterday (Thursday), but it is understood that contractors are on site to assess the situation.
UPDATE:
Repairs have been made and the waterway is reopened.
