Man found dead on boat

THE body of a man has been discovered in a narrowboat at Barton Turns Marina after a fellow boater noticed his absence.

The neighbouring moorer of the dead man, suspicious of his absence, called the police who attended and entered the boat, discovering the man, who has been named as Mr. Starling.

Not suspicious

Though residents at the marina were showing concern at the death of a fellow boater, the police told that there was nothing to worry about as it was not being treated as suspicious.

An ambulance attended, with the boater being pronounced dead at the scene.
