CaRT to replace marketing failure

THE Canal & River Trust (CaRT) recently appointed Director of Marketing, Communications and Fundraising, Sophie Castell, has wasted little time in advertising for a new Head of Fundraising, writes Allan Richards.

Following the departure of £70,000 a year Ruth Ruderham to Princes Trust International (Failing ‘Friends' boss goes), the trust is advertising for a replacement on a ‘competitive salary'.

45 strong team

The advertisement states that the replacement Head of Fundraising will lead a 45 strong team of fund-raisers who are on target to raise over £2 millions this year via a new and fast growing voluntary fundraising programme.

If true this would be most welcome as CaRT's three annual reports show that its ‘old' voluntary fundraising programme actually lost £3 millions ...

Elsewhere, CaRT is still advertising for chuggers on £9 per hour.
