Limehouse lock closed again

IT WOULD seem the recent repairs to Limehouse Lock onto the Thames were not up to standard, as its seals need repairing.

There seems to be no urgency however as the work will not begin until Monday 8th February next year, and will take over a month—until Friday 11th March, to complete, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Five weeks

No reason is given by Canal & River Trust as to why inserting the seals should take five weeks to complete.

This of course means no access to or from the river for the period.
