Closing the Bridge at Napton

VERY glad that David Hymers has spotted this, (Another canalside pub under threat) let's get in lots of objections suggests Martin Cox.

The good thing is that a local councillor has objected which, if Stratford on Avon follow usual practice, means that it will not be decided by officers and will need to go to committee, so the more objections the better, as 'out of area' objectors carry less weight.

Development not supported

Objections need to be well founded. Napton has a lodged Village Plan which includes a Housing Needs Assessment which does not support any need for the type of houses proposed. The site is outside the village built-up boundary and therefore falls under the council's Local Plan Strategy, and the relevant policy (CS4.1) does not support this type of development.

Regrettably 'a nice pub', 'good boaters pub' whilst true, does not affect planning considerations nor can the planners take into account that some of the owners of the houses will soon be complaining about boaters mooring at the bottom of their gardens!
