Another drowning

DIVERS have been searching the Ouse at York for a man missing after a 'night out' last Friday.

The Skipton man, Rory Johnson, was staying at the York Central Travel Lodge, but left the hotel, it is understood, to walk by the river around midnight, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Going back out

Before this he had been with friends at the Postern Gate pub, returning to the hotel around 11.30pm, then going back out.

The police believe he could have fallen into the river, that was both above normal height and fast flowing, hence the search by divers. It is Humberside Police Underwater Search Unit that has been searching, assisted by the York Rescue Boat.
