Boy shot dead on towpath

A MURDER enquiry has been launched after a 16 years old boy was shot on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal towpath and was pronounced dead in hospital.

This happened at around 11pm last night (Sunday) on the towpath of the canal at Eldonian Village in Liverpool, Robert Slivinski tells us.

Sealed off

The towpath is now completely sealed off whilst forensic examinations are being made, with detectives questioning local people seeking a motive for the killing.

The boy was discovered on the towpath by a man who contacted the emergency services to summon help. He was taken to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, but died a short time later.

The murder was committed during rain and high winds, with the towpath being little used and little chance of anyone hearing anything.
