A teenager has been arrested in connection with an offence involving the attack of a woman cyclist on the Grand Union Canal in Birmingham.

There was a series of attacks on cyclists using the towpath around Small Heath (Cyclists targeted on Birmingham towpaths) where a gang was attacking the cyclists, pushing them into the water then taking off with their cycles, Mick Fitzgibbons tells us.

14 years old

One of them, a 14 years old boy has been arrested in connection with a towpath attack where a woman cyclist was pushed into the canal and three further assaults, together with a public order offence.

The woman was left with injuries that needed hospital surgery.

A few days later the police were called to the same area where a male cyclist was being attacked by a group of teenagers, but who managed to escape.
