Pillings raises money for Cancer Research

WITH the help of good weather and no floods on the Soar, the season for the Pillings Lock Marina Cancer Research UK day boat was very busy, raising £360.00 for the charity.

Together with Gift Aid, the amount raised is £450.00, with the total now having been passed on to Cancer Research UK.  The day boat is named Jo-Anne as a tribute to two past clients of the marina who are no longer with us, and use of the boat makes a £5 donation to the charity for every day in operation.

Favoured boat

The day boat Jo-Anne is one of four boats operated by Pillings, with feedback from uses of the boat showing it's not only a worthwhile cause but also a favoured boat to rent, being very easy to handle, with many beginners experiencing their first day on the water in that particular boat.
