Braunston sewage IS a serious health issue

MICK Fitzgibbons writes that the overflowing sewage at Braunston has 'all the makings of a serious public health issue'—it does not have the makings of one, it is one. The sewage is next to a drinking water tap! Writes David Davis.

Even if no people or pets walk through it, sewage exposed in the open is fed upon by flies, who then fly off contaminated by the sewage and spread any micro-organisms they've picked up onto the subsequent landing sites (such as someone's kitchen table).

Liable to be sued

I'm not a lawyer. But five minutes googling would suggest that CaRT are liable under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 for the criminal offence of unlicenced depositing of controlled waste.

See for example http://cases.iclr.co.uk/Subscr/search.aspx?docID=WLRD2013-114
(And that's before anyone gets ill and sues...)

Simply sticking a note on the privy door with CaRT Aware' on it is not adequate.
