A BOAT exploded at Bray Lock at Taplow on the Thames today (Sunday) with a total of seven people being taken to hospital for treatment.

The explosion happened at around 12.30, Sunday, with the lock closed for the rest of the day whilst the cause of the explosion was being investigated, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Not life threatening

The seven people involved in the accident included a three years old boy and a teenage girl. They were helped by boaters from another boat and were then taken to St George's hospital in London for treatment.  None of the injuries were life threatening.

It was a cruiser that exploded at the rear of the boat, and the accident is now being investigated by the authorities.  The lock was closed all day.
