Email: Banbury problem

Published: Friday, 31 July 2015

I did consider calling the police [at Banbury] but decided against it due to past experience in calling them about problems on the waterway—what proof did I have, would be their first question and if I have none, nor any witnesses then all that would happen would be that I might just might get a crime number.

Besides, I did not want to have to sit and wait an indeterminate amount of time waiting for them to reply or—miracle upon miracle—turn up.

If Banbury does not want this sort of activity 'giving the town a bad name' as he says, then I think it's up to Banbury's council(s) and police to do something about it. Is it not, after all, they keep telling us not to take the law into our own hands?

Someone needs to tell the local police the canals etc are not no-go areas for them after all it is their job and they are getting paid for it are they not?
