Rochdale closed again

WE ARE doing better this week, with it being Thursday and only two canals closed—but alas the Rochdale again.
And again it is paddles causing the stoppage, as now both head gate paddles need attention as 'not operating in a safe manner' on Lock 11 Stubbing Upper Lock, Keith Gudgin tells us.
This time is seems Canal & River Trust are not 'bodging' the repair, but replacing the gear with new systems, and whilst the chamber is empty are carrying out repairs to the leaking gates.
No intimation however when the work will be completed.
Lancaster open
The good news is that the stoppage on the Lancaster Canal has ended and is once again open to navigation.
