Boat licensing problems

A NUMBER of boaters have contacted us stating that they are receiving demands from Canal & River Trust for an extra £150 for their boat licences that have already been paid!

The emails tell boaters that their licence has not been paid in the stipulated time and so an extra £150 becomes due for late payment.

Paid in May

One boater who received the email on Friday tells us that his licence was paid in full as long ago as May.

We have contacted the department handling licences and were told that it is 'a computer problem that is caused as the Trust is stopping auto renew'.  Auto renew?
