Boaters' art exhibition

FROM today, Wednesday, boaters are presenting an exhibition of their art from their boats moored on the Grand Union Canal in Berkhamsted, until Saturday.

After this, they will move on to Apsley Marina in Hemel Hempstead for the following three weeks, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Troupe

A number of artists have now taken to boating, and are offering a wide range of canal-based subjects, from traditional to contemporary as paintings, drawings, sculptures and the like, forming into a troupe of Roving Art Galleries, exhibiting at various location along the waterways.

It all started when the artists met at a floating market, and realised such like-minded people could band together, moving from place to place,  to offer a wide range of art to a wider audience.
