Very impressed with RCR

WE RECENTLY had a similar mechanical failure as Gary Doswell, when the bottom pulley of our BMC1800 came off and broke into pieces, writes Dave Stead.

The woodruff key vanished into the bilge never to be seen again, the crank end seal was stripped, leaving us stuck at Kidsgrove on a Bank Holiday weekend. The local River & Canal Rescue guy's response was fantastic, the words 'above and beyond the call of duty' spring to mind.

Running again

He sourced us a replacement pulley key and seal, grafted the smaller Jabsco drive pulley from our old assembly onto the new pulley, machined a bit of pulley away to make it all fit properly, and had us up and running again in days.

My other experiences of RCR (missing bit of injection pump, and cracked diesel feed pipe) have been equally positive in that both times we were up and running the same day, I can't find a single negative thing to say about them!

Lasting positive impression

RCR have left a lasting positive impression on me, I believe Mr Goswell's experience is not typical and I hope that RCR manage to sort out his problem and leave him as a happy customer in the same way they did for us. In my mind the subscription would still be worth it at twice the price!
