The same problem

IT WOULD seem that River & Canal Rescue (RCR) have a problem with the crank nut on the Beta 43 engine, as another boater had the same problem as Gary Doswell. (Not impressed with RCR).

Elsie Fletcher experienced the crank nut coming off her narrowboat Bendigedig, with RCR failing to repair it, telling us:

"We had the same problem with the crank nut coming off a Beta 43 with the same set up. RCR tried to sort it and it fell off again, one problem being they didn't have a large enough socket.

"Now in a boatyard getting sorted and even they had to buy in a large socket! Due to lack of space in the engine bay the engine has to be lifted out, so we're patiently waiting too."
