In total agreement

I FIND myself in total agreement with John Wallace and Paul Dowler re: The Timothy and Pru crashing around the waterways television show, writes Rob Dennis.

It makes me wonder how much editing the producers have had to do, to cut out the other crashes and the verbal abuse from other moored boaters as they have sped past. Not once have I seen them slow down (let alone drop to tick-over speed) past moored boats who maybe getting something very hot out of the oven.

The slower the less effect

A 20 plus tonne of boat going past a moored boat—no matter how well tied up—causes a lot of water displacement...the slower, the less effect.

As for the comment "It's a contact sport" I find very irresponsible. Maybe I should try that if I accidentally touched his car.

Pam Pickett's 'Narcissistic comment' article saying "Timothy and Pru are by no means the only boaters to travel at night" and "damaging the infrastructure this couple are no more likely to do so than a good many others I see" doesn't mean that it's all right for them to do it.

Think it's the way to do it

In fact it's probably worse as they are being watched by thousands if not millions of people who may now think that, that's the way to do it.

Paul Dowler's comment, 'Perhaps a follow-up episode correcting these mistakes might be in order'. I fear Paul, it will need more than one episode.

In Timothy and Pru's 20 odd years of boating, they don't seem to have learnt a great deal.

In my opinion, acting like that anywhere else other than on the canals, they would be breathalysed.  Perhaps an idea.
