Birmingham leak repaired by Easter

THE hole that has appeared in the canal bed of the Worcester & Birmingham Canal near Gas Street Basin should be repaired by Easter, Canal & River Trust have advised.

There has been delay is examining the damage owing to a leaking stop gate, but now a thorough examination has taken place it is going to be a big job, Keith Gudgin tells us.

However it is hoped the hole will be plugged and the waterway open in early April, in time for the Easter break.

This is of course assuming that no further leaks are discovered.
