Nothing hilarious about it

A MAN attempting to jump across a narrow lock in Birmingham who fell into the water has been described as hilarious, but there is nothing hilarious about it.

It happened at the lock near Gas Street Basin, and the man was one of a stag party who was egged on to attempt the jump, but he is nothing more than a stupid fool, who obviously doesn't realise that in the last few years two people have died attempting to jump locks in Birmingham, as reported in narrowboatworld. (Another youth drowns after trying to jump lock.) Keith Gudgin reports.

Would then be dead

If the man had gone a few inches further he could have struck his head on the stone edge of the lock, and he would then be dead, as others before him.

Unbelievably most of the rest of the stag party had jumped the lock, and it was indeed very fortunate than non were seriously injured—or worse.
