Mind the car

IT IS never a good idea to leave a car our of gear with a dodgy handbrake facing downhill towards a waterway, which was what one fella did to his regret.

For the dodgy handbrake failed, so the car slowly trundled down the bank—and into the Union Canal, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Completely waterlogged

But even worse was that it was packed with belongings for a holiday, so not only was the car completely waterlogged but all his belongings inside as well.

Luckily a Scottish Canals tow truck was quickly at the scene and pulled the vehicle from the waterway, with the distraught owner attempting to salvage what he could of his belongings.

Fortunately the car had no occupants, so no one was hurt.
