Raffle to improve lock

SUCH is the state of King's Lock on the Trent & Mersey Canal that a local hire company together with the IWA is raffling a boating holiday to help pay for work to improve the area.

Middlewich Narrowboats and the IWA are raffling a two weeks holiday valued at £1,700 to raise cash to improve the lock and surrounding area near the hire company's premises.

Raise £10,000

It is hoped that the raffle will raise £10,000 with the cash going to the IWA Waterway Recovery Group whose volunteers will do the work that is required.

There will be a second prize of another boating holiday, this time with Wyvern Shipping on the Grand Union Canal.
