Boat explodes in Bristol Harbour

A BOAT with two people on board exploded yesterday, Sunday, in Bristol Harbour.

One of the the two people on board the boat Roehampton was injured in the blast that occurred yesterday afternoon with debris scattered over other boats moored alongside, Alan Tilbury reports.

The emergency services were alerted with the injured man being attended to by ambulance personel. Upon a preliminary investigation by the police a shattered gas cylinder was found amongst the remains of the boat that has now sunk.

The area around the wreck was cordoned off and the harbour closed whilst investigation took place, but the cordon has now been removed and the harbour open.
